Camera Critters: Close encounter with a Parrot
I never dare feeding a Parrot before because I am afraid of the little critter’s beak. No vet tech schools nor even basic online vet tech programs for me! I have to conquer that fear and give it a try so I fed one Parrot in Malagos Garden Resort in Davao City. It was indeed a great experience. Never had that close and intimate encounter with such bird ever since the world began. Thanks to hubby for taking this photo of my hand and the Parrot.LOL.

Porkitos lechon for Media Noche
Lechon (roasted Pig) is always part of every Filipino’s menu during special occasions especially birthdays, anniversaries, thanksgivings, fiestas, Noche Buena, and Media Noche. We always had this in my hometown even on ordinary days but since it is more expensive here in the city, we don’t usually eat lechon.
My SIL sponsored a Lechon during media noche which I ordered from Porkitos (so far the best tasting lechon in the city). We feasted on it as we welcome the 2011 at PIL’s place. Frequently eating lechon is not really good for the health but since we only have it once in a while, then there’s no limit in eating it!hahaha. Anyway weight loss pills are always available in the market so there’s no worry about getting fat.LOL.
Through the binoculars
Last month was the First Asian Bird Forum held at Waterfront Insular Hotel. I and Ace was so excited to go there with high hopes that we will be seeing different species of birds from different Asian countries only to find out that we could only count with our fingers what could be seen there. Among the birds in the event venue were the white-breasted Eagle and owls. It would have been nice to see our pride Philippine Eagle (Monkey-eating eagle) there. I overheard there were birds display on the first day but were pulled out on the second day of the forum.
We kept ourselves busy taking snaps of people instead. Then lined up to have a peek at the binoculars to see a bird from a distance. Instead of peeking through the lens with my eyes, I used my Lumix LX5 to take a photo of what could be seen in the binoculars. Luckily, here’s a bird that we could barely see with our naked eyes.
Thanks to the binoculars! This is my entry for Camera Critters.
