Watching travel shows and appreciating Zurich design

Watching travel and cooking shows is one of my favorite things to do when I am away from the computer. Hubby joins me in my passion and now he is more into those shows that is entertaining and “educational” for us. We both love watching cooking shows and even those reality cooking shows because we both love to cook. We prepare our meals (which we SHOULD do) at home and are getting ideas and inspirations from the shows that we are watching.

We also love watching travel shows for one obvious reason – we love to travel! Be it local travel or international travel shows, we don’t get tired watching it. We are learning a lot from those shows from culture, to food, to fashion sense, even to the architectural designs of the buildings and homes. Watching travel shows is like sitting in the class of arts appreciation where you are taught about Zurich design, Vienna Design, and any other famous architectural designs that is rich in history and exceptionally beautiful. One gets to appreciate other places and gets to know about Valencia Art more than when it is taught in Arts Appreciation 101 class.

So if you are like me and hubby who can’t afford to experience a real vacation to places that is rich in history, culture and arts such as Zurich, Vienna and Valencia (to name a few), let’s watch travel shows! I must say it is entertaining and educational.

Punta del Sol

Punta del Sol in Samal Island

We’ve been to Punta del Sol (for the first time) and I was quite disappointed with the beach. I know at first the beach isn’t as nice and bummer-friendly like other resorts with fine white sand and “coral-less” shores and beach beds. The beach is infested with sea urchins and the dead corals abound the beach and shores itself. Hayts. Not really good for beach goers like me because I didn’t enjoy it that much.

Quick glimpse of the late President Marcos’ body

This is what you will see upon entering the late President Ferdinand Marcos’ mausoleum in Batac, Ilocos Norte.

Trip na Trip to Ilocos

Taking of photos and videos are not allowed inside so we turned off our cameras as we enter the place to take a glimpse of the late president’s body lying there – enclosed in a glass “coffin” – for years already. We went in together with some “senior citizen” tourists that when they got out of the mausoleum, someone overheard one of them bragging the photo she secretly took of the late president’s body.tsk…tsk…tsk. At their age, they still cannot follow simple instructions! I hope the family will install security cameras inside the mausoleum to monitor thevisitors’ activities should the caretaker get busy with something else like smoking inside the airconditioned mausoleum.hmmm…..
