Vacation home in the north
Watching home improvement shows inspires me to re-decorate or remodel our house. I already have a mental picture of everything should we have the budget for a major renovation. I would love to have a fireplace but it is not appropriate for a house in the tropics so even if there are lots of nice and inexpensive fireplace inserts that could be found online, no way that we would need one unless we live in the summer capital of the country. A fireplace would definitely be needed in Baguio City because it is cold during the night and I couldn’t survive in that kind of chilly weather that makes me shiver even if I am wearing a jacket. Hmm…would love to have a vacation home in Baguio or somewhere in the northern part of the country.

Pendant light fixtures for the kitchen
Now that we have moved, had the house re-tiled, and repainted, our next project is to have the electrical wirings replaced. Also, we wanted to have additional outlets including an A/C outlet installed. We have not used the aircon since we moved and sometimes it is uncomfortable sleeping during humid days.
We are also planning to have recessed lights installed on the corners of each room, living, dining, kitchen area, and the bathroom. But then that project has to be put on hold because we still have bills to pay from the house renovation. Once everything is settled, then we can allot a budget for the electrical works.
Recessed lights at the corners and we also need pendant light fixtures in the dining area. Hubby and saw a nice design that is not that expensive at the hardware and home improvement store that where we get most of the materials needed during the renovation. There are nice choices of kitchen light fixtures in the store but we are eyeing the simple one (aside from the fact that it is cheaper!LOL). Should we will have another kitchen renovation (that we are planning to take place a couple of years from now), I would like to have kitchen pendant lighting in the kitchen island. Wishing!

Removing tiles without floor grinders
The first concern that we dealt with before moving to our house is the flooring. The tiles in the living area and kitchen are in bad shape so we had to remove it and replace with something new. Initial plan was to replace put back the original tiles after fixing the concrete flooring. But then we decided to buy the house so we replaced it with tiles of our choice.
We hired the services of those who have experience in floor removal so we won’t deal with the problem by ourselves. They have no floor grinders so they have to work on removing the tiles and manually. It’s not an easy task that the workers finished working on it in more than a week including tile installation.
It’s more expensive than just having a concrete floor polishing but having floor tiles is more convenient and practical in the long run. It only needs a cloth to buff the floor while wax/polish is needed to the plain concrete flooring. It required a lot of work and moolah in installation though but it is worth every penny once done in the right way. I mean right way of installing tiles because it will be a waste of time, money and effort once tiles are not installed correctly.
