Thankful for the reliable multicab

We had a funny yet embarrassing moments last month on our way here from my sister’s place in the nearby city. Their car seemed to have problem before we left their place. By the time we are slowing down because we are approaching Task Force Davao’s checkpoint, the vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. We don’t have a choice but to get off the car – excluding my nephew and my BIL who drives – and push it until it started again. We had that dilemma thrice until we reached our destination…and we were all tired after. Muscles sored because we were unprepared and didn’t have time to warm up. Hence for days we suffered from muscle pains in our thighs and arms.

However, we were still glad that we reached home safe because we drove back to Digos that night. On our way, we were silently praying that the car’s engine won’t stop while we are in the middle of the road. Or else, we won’t have a choice but to leave the car and call for an rv towing truck errr…a towing truck the following day. But thankfully we arrived my sister’s place safe and sound. Still thankful for the reliable multicab!

Going home for the long weekend

It’s long weekend! People are taking their short vacation or going home to their hometowns to visit the grave of their loved ones. We are not supposed to be observing All Saints Day and All Souls Day but since Mamang died, it’s one of the reasons we go home to Kabacan to visit her grave, and visit our relatives too! Early last week, there have been reports that people are flocking to bus terminals, sea ports and airports to avoid hassle during the weekend. Because of the security threats, baggage inspection and body search has been more strict this time. In one of the sea ports, bags and luggages have to go through series of inspections from garretts metal detectors, to vaporizers, to canine dogs to make sure that there are no explosives. It takes longer to check in but it’s for the passenger’s safety.

Anyway, it’s our turn to go home tomorrow. See you Kabacan in a bit!

Plans for Daddy

My father will turn 60 few years from now and I am thinking how we can convince him to stay with us instead of living alone in his farm. He wanted it there and giving up his farm is not an option though developing it is almost impossible because it would need a huge amount of money. His siblings and other relatives are living in a nearby barangay but he would need to cross a river to get there and they cannot always check on him 24/7.

I hope Daddy will change his mind and priorities before he turns 60 and stay with us. I and my siblings are planning on getting him a health insurance that he can use anytime if he needs to see a doctor for a check-up if there would be any health problem*knock on wood*. Then when he turns 60, I hope we can afford to get him a life insurance for seniors. That’s the least we could do to him. But I really hope he would agree with us on leaving his farm for now and live with us or with any of my sisters so we could look after him. That way, we won’t worry too much about him.
